ED 800 Concept of Education Inquiry

An introduction to educational inquiry and how it is used in education.  The course taught many different views about inquiry both student and teacher based.   It also gave me a good idea on how people learn, and what the differences between traditional education and progressive education are in regards to the overall educational system in the United States.

EAD 801 Leadership and Organizational Development
Jerry Jennings
This course was an introduction into leadership in organizations and how organizational leadership is structured.  There were many great articles to read for this class, especially one from the very beginning that talked about emotional intelligence.  This class gave me a good idea of how to view my own personal professional development in my organization.

Spring Semester 2010

EAD 864 Adult Career Development

This course was an introduction into the many ways people get their educations and how they pursue their goals from that education.  This course had many articles and books defining the idea of adult career development and how we continue to educate ourselves even after we leave our institutions of education.

EAD 863 Training and Professional Development

This course was a good introduction into the process that is professional development.  We learned the skills it takes to drive our own professions.  This course gave a great lesson in how organizational growth occurs, and the steps necessary for an organization to be successful.

CEP 882 Seminar in CEP
Cynthia Okolo
This was geared more toward students that were teachers.  It was a great experience working with technology in education.  I learned of many on-line resources and educational tools for teachers to use in their classrooms.

EAD 867 Case Studies in Educational Leadership
Marilynn Amey
This course was an introduction to case studies of leadership, and how it is broken down in the different levels of educational facilities.  It gave me insight in to how the organizational structures of educational organizations are set up, and how each individual plays a role within that organization.  The case studies were a good back drop to see how situations are handled in each organization.

EAD 825 Shared Leaderships in Schools

This course was an introduction to the leadership in educational institutions.  I learned how the various roles are developed within a school district and how these roles define that district.  I alos learned the different ways teachers can enhance their professional development within the role that they play in their institutions.

EAD 860 Concept of a Learning Society

This course gave a complete overview of where education plays a role in society.  There were many great articles and books to read on how people learn, and the ways in which people get educated, whether that be in formal education or on the job training.

Spring Semester 2011

EAD 876 Budgeting and Finance in Higher Education
Patricia Farrell
This course is a study in institutional budgeting in higher education.  We have read many articles on budgeting, financial aid, and state and federal aid.  In these tough economic times institutions are receiving less and less funding from their states and from the federal government.  This course is an introduction on how these institutions are dealing with the loss of funding.

ED 870 Capstone

The Capstone course is one in which I bring together my entire Masters studies and create an online portfolio that I may use for the future.  The portfolio challenged me in the realm of web production since I have never set up or authored a website.
